Job Search Strategy Compass Mini Course

This mini-course gives you a clear map so you finally know where to focus and what to change in your search.

Stop Guessing. Start Aiming: Use the Job Seeker Compass to Target What Really Needs to Change in Your Job Search.

Most job seekers are working hard...but on the wrong things. This mini-course gives you a clear map so you finally know where to focus and what to change in your search.

Why this mini-course

  • Identify which part of your job search is actually broken, instead of guessing or trying to fix everything at once.
  • Use the Job Seeker Compass to see, in one visual snapshot, where you’re strong, where you’re stuck, and where a small shift can unlock better results.
  • Clarify your Job Search Values so you know exactly what you want from company culture, leadership style, ethics, flexibility, and growth.
  • Learn how to weave those values into your resume, LinkedIn profile, and job search approach, so you attract roles that truly fit you.
  • Submit your completed Compass and reflections to get targeted feedback on your results and guidance on your next steps.

Enroll now to get your Job Seeker Compass, complete the three short lessons, and turn a scattered search into a targeted, confident plan.

Course Summary

Lesson 1 – Start Here: Navigate Your Job Seeker Compass

In the first short lesson, you will learn exactly how to use your Job Seeker Compass and Job Search Values battery. You will walk through each part of the tool so you understand:

  • The 8 core areas of a modern job search (clarity, personal brand, networking, applications, interview readiness, skills/marketability, mindset, and life/logistics) and why all of them matter.
  • How to score yourself honestly, without shame, so your map reflects what is really happening, not what you wish were true.
  • How to read the visual “shape” of your compass so you can instantly see where your search is breaking down and where you are already doing well.

By the end of Lesson 1, you will know exactly how to navigate the compass and how to interpret what it is telling you about your job search.

Lesson 2 – Download, Complete, and Decode Your Compass

In Lesson 2, you will download your Job Seeker Compass workbook and complete it step by step. This is where the insight really starts.

  • You will complete the Job Search Values battery, selecting the values that matter most for your next role.
  • You will focus on values like your desired leadership style, company ethics, work–life balance, inclusion, recognition, growth, flexibility, and more.
  • You will use those values to pinpoint the kind of companies, cultures, and managers you are actually looking for, so you stop chasing roles that were never going to be a fit.
  • You will complete the Job Seeker Compass map to score eight key areas of your job search, from clarity and personal brand to networking and interview readiness.
  • You will be able to use the results to connect your values and your map to your practical tools: your resume, LinkedIn profile, and day-to-day job search strategy.

You will be able to use this clarity to:

  • Reflect your values in your resume narrative and accomplishments, so you attract roles aligned with how you want to work, not just what you can do.
  • Weave your values into your LinkedIn About section, headline, and content so recruiters and hiring managers immediately understand what you stand for.
  • Use your values as a “filter” when you read job descriptions, research companies, and prepare interview questions, so you can screen out misaligned opportunities earlier.
  • Outline areas where you can improve your job search results, enabling you to move forward faster and with more confidence.

This is about more than “finding a job.” It is about aligning your search with who you are, how you work best, and what you will and will not compromise on.

Lesson 3 - Next Steps: Upload Your Results and Get Targeted Feedback

In the final lesson, you will upload your completed Job Seeker Compass along with your reflections. You will not be left to figure out the next steps alone. You will be guided to:

  • Share a screenshot of your compass results, your Job Search Values, and what surprised you about your results.
  • Identify 1–2 priority areas that will give you the biggest return if you improve them first (for example, networking vs. clarity vs. interview prep).
  • Receive feedback on your compass so you know where to focus next and what kind of actions will actually move the needle for you.

Instead of generic advice, your feedback is anchored in your unique map. That means your next moves (whether updating your LinkedIn, tightening your resume, building a networking routine, or changing your target roles) are based on data about your search, not random tips.

Angela Roberts

I have spent the last three decades on both sides of the hiring table in clinical research, and I built this coaching space because I could no longer watch good people get lost in a broken system.

As Co-Founder and Managing Partner at craresources, my team places experienced CRAs, Field Monitors, Site Managers, and Clinical Ops Leadership with Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Medical Device, and CRO clients. That means I see what hiring managers are actually looking for in today's market, what makes a resume get pulled out of the stack rather than buried, and what the market is rewarding right now (which has changed dramatically, even compared to two years ago).

Here is what I know to be true: today's clinical research job market has become brutal. AI-generated ghost candidates. Falsified credentials. Mid-career professionals with 10, 15, and 20 years of real, hard-won expertise are sending 200 applications into the void with zero feedback. If that is where you are right now, you are not imagining it, and it is not because you have lost your edge.

If you are pivoting (a CRA moving into in-house monitoring or PM, a functional expert breaking into CRO leadership, a Clinical Operations Leader exploring consulting, etc.), if you are newly out of work and have not conducted a job-search in a decade, or if you are stalled and cannot figure out where the leak is in your search, I can help. I coach across eight areas of the job search: clarity, personal brand and story, networking, applications and targeting, interview readiness, skills and marketability, mindset and resilience, and life and logistics fit.

My background: I had a decade at IBM leading global transformation programs spanning 17,000+ team members as one of four Senior Transformation Executives before I left in 2008 to build craresources. I am PMP certified, LEAN and Six Sigma certified, and I have contributed thought leadership for ACRP, DIA, Applied Clinical Trials, CenterWatch, Xtalks, and others.

My promise to you: I make high-quality clinical research professionals hard to ignore. I help you translate your experience from fact into proof, build a LinkedIn presence that actually gets found, fine-tune your perfect role and team, become a stronger interviewer, and negotiate the compensation you have earned.

If you are ready to show up for yourself, I am ready to show up for you.
