LinkedIn Networking for Job Seekers

You have been told to network, but you would rather do almost anything else. It feels pushy, salesy, and awkward. This hour shows you how to reach out on LinkedIn in a way that feels genuine, gets a reply, and never sounds desperate.

linkedin outreach

A free, hands-on webinar for experienced clinical research professionals who dread networking and don't want to feel salesy or desperate. In one hour, we build a short list of people worth reaching out to, write messages that sound like you, and set an easy rhythm, so networking feels like a real conversation, not a pitch.

As a side note, this session is part 5 of a 5-part series on How to Get Found on LinkedIn. If you didn't sign up for the earlier sessions, registration will earn you access to all five sessions so you have the entire LinkedIn strategy.

You Don't Want to Network. But you Have Been Told You Have To.

Networking on LinkedIn feels like asking strangers for favors...or selling yourself. And you don't want to be the person who only reaches out when they need something.

So you avoid it, and you keep applying instead.

But here is why it is worth getting past those thoughts and feelings: Roles are filled through people. Real connections. And when a person knows you directly or has been introduced to you by someone else, they get a clearer view of you and your qualifications... a view that an online application will never show.

You don't have to be pushy or salesy to connect with others. But you do have to be genuine, specific, and easy to say yes to, and that is a skill you can learn.

This hour shows you exactly how: who to reach out to, what to say so it sounds like you and not a sales pitch, and how to turn a simple message into a real conversation.

What Avoiding Networking Costs You

When you avoid reaching out, the cost shows up where it hurts most, at the offer stage.

networking for job seekers
  • The hidden roles never reach you. Many positions are filled before they are ever posted, through people. You only hear about them if someone thinks of you.
  • You are stuck with the apply button. In a market where a warm introduction wins, sending more applications into the void is the slowest path there is.
  • When you finally reach out, it is harder. Messaging someone cold, only when you urgently need something, is exactly the situation you were dreading. A little outreach, earlier, makes it easy.

The people who land positions through networking aren't the pushiest. They are the ones whose messages are genuine, specific, and easy to answer.

This is a Working Session, Not a Lecture

All you need for the session is a LinkedIn profile.

During this single session, we will write your outreach together, and you will leave with messages you can send the same day.

linkedin messages
  • Choose Who to Reach. Figuring out who to contact feels overwhelming, so most people message everyone or no one. It doesn't have to be a guessing game. I show you how to build a short, focused list of the people and target companies actually worth your time, so every message you send has a real reason behind it.
  • Send a Request Without the Pitch. The connection request is where most people freeze, because they don't want to sound like they are selling. It doesn't have to feel that way. I show you how to write a short, genuine request that gets accepted, one that says who you are and why you are reaching out, with nothing salesy in it.
  • Know What to Say Once They Accept. The silence right after someone connects is what stops most people cold. That moment doesn't have to be awkward. I show you how to open a real conversation by offering something useful first and asking one simple question, so it never feels like a pitch.
  • Set an Easy Rhythm. Networking sounds like a numbers game you will dread, so it is easy to avoid it entirely. I show you how to keep a light, steady rhythm of a few genuine conversations a week, so reaching out becomes something you can do comfortably on your own.

You will leave with your short list, your connection message and follow-up written, and an easy weekly rhythm established.

You Take the Content Worksheet With You

get found on linkedin

The Outreach worksheet is Section 5 of your Get Found on LinkedIn Workbook, and it lands in your inbox the moment you register. We fill it in together during the hour.

  • Your short list of people and target companies worth reaching
  • Your connection message and your follow-up, written in your own words
  • A simple weekly rhythm you can keep

This isn't a filler PDF. It is the worksheet the session is built around, and it takes the guesswork out of reaching out.
